IESA’s internship office is directed by Marie-Caroline Lemans (in the Cultural Events Management department) and Alison Vonthron (in the Art Market).  They work in close collaboration to help students find internships that meet their needs.

At IESA, internships are mandatory for every department, and form an integral part of the program.

In order to validate any IESA program, students must complete full-time or part-time internships throughout their training period.  Thus, from the first year of study, they are exposed to different jobs in the cultural sector, build contact networks, and learn to work with other professionals.

Students can of course organize internships of their own initiative, but they can also refer to IESA’s extensive network of partner companies if they need help finding a placement.  Students can also use the intranet site to apply for job offers online.  Finally, “job dating” sessions are organized twice a year, at the beginning of the school year and again in the second semester.

“Job dating” consists of brief ten-minute interviews between professionals and students.  An excellent exercise in thinking on one’s feet, job dating lets students promote themselves to potential employers and find an internship that suits them, while employers can pick out the most competent and motivated intern for the job.

Our international art school places a strong emphasis on the professional aspect of the program, which we consider the best guarantee of finding a future job.  For this reason, in addition to their internships, students are encouraged to participate in a range of cultural events. IESA is proud to support a range of prestigious cultural events, and many of our students who work or volunteer at these events end up finding their passion and sometimes, their future career.
