for providing a dance theatre for Britain; and for setting an example in management of theatre” 

 

Anamaria Wills is an award winning entrepreneur who specialises in creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She produced work by the National Theatre, the RSC, and then a range of national and international companies including Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Nederlans Dans Theater, the Black Theatre of Harlem, the Marinsky Theatre of St Petersburg, Moscow Theatre of the South West and Ariane Mnouchkine’s Theatre du Soleil. 

In 2000, she founded the Creative Industries Development Agency (CIDA) and ran it for almost twenty years.  Through CIDA, she supported the development of hundreds of highly successful creative enterprises in the UK and internationally.  Her work included working at both strategic, governmental levels as well as directly with thousands of grassroots organisations and practitioners.  She led on the major cultural sector skills’ competency development programme for the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, described by their CEO as a ‘global first, an outstanding piece of work’.

She is Chair of Balbir Singh Dance Company, Leeds; and Javaad Alipoor Theatre Company, Manchester; and Strategic Advisor to Rosetta Arts, London.
