IESA Alumni Léonore BECKER, M.A. History and Business of Art and Collecting

Léonore graduated from the M.A. History and Business of Art and Collecting. As an art advisor, Léonore provides a full suite of advisory services for the agency’s clients which include sourcing, appraisals, pricing, researches and collection management servicing. She is liaising with consignors to secure artworks for private treaty sales, and approaches potential sellers to market and transact artworks, including library & online research and content production for artwork catalogue production. She also participates and execute curatorial projects (at least 4 per year) with the participation of the entire team, not only in Singapore, but also in Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manilla…

 

Previously, Léonore worked at Christie’s in London, then in New York and in Paris, from 2007 to 2013. Working in various departments, she developed an expertise in a wide range of subjects and gained experience in valuation, advisory and art exhibitions. She coordinated the Yves Saint Laurent part II sale in 2010 in Paris; thereafter she worked in the Impressionist and Modern department, where she participated in the sale including the highest-price work sold at an auction in France at that time. She subsequently worked with a Parisian expert and restorer specialising in European works of art, and for Chanel in the Fashion division.
